Matt Hopper
Matt began his radio career in 1978, just three weeks before his Hotel Management diploma finals in Portsmouth. Needless to say, he put all his effort into the show, and flunked the finals!
By 1980, Matt was hosting the mid morning show on Radio Victory (then one of only 15 commercial stations in the country), and in 1985 moved along the coast to take on the Breakfast Show at 2CR in Bournemouth (which is where he met his wife Victoria!).
In 1986, he went east again to join the team at Ocean Sound, presenting at the weekends and producing their commercials.
After a short spell as Programme Controller for Ocean and Power FM, he joined the launch team at Wave 105, where he fronted the morning show for eight years.
In 2006, Matt took a short break from broadcasting for health reasons, and returned briefly on BBC Radio Solent, and then Original 106. He also runs his own radio production company, and fronts a premium mobile entertainment outfit immodestly called The King of Disco!
He lives near the New Forest with his wife, two daughters and a menagerie of animals.
