Police publish photo of deception suspect.
Hampshire police have released the name and a picture of a man they want to speak to, in connection with deception offences.
David Robert Cooper is suspected of defrauding a 70 year-old man out of several thousand pounds of his savings.
Police believe 39 year-old Cooper befriended his victim from Park Gate near Fareham over several years.
They say the elderly man was subsequently persuaded to give Cooper around £30,000 of his life savings.
Cooper is thought to be currently in the Christchurch or Bournemouth areas.
Detective Constable Gemma Hunter told THE COAST NEWS CENTRE: "We are releasing Cooper's name and photograph because we are extremely keen to track him down and speak to him about his involvement in this extensive deception.
"The victim is a vulnerable, elderly gentleman and this is a particularly despicable crime, where the perpetrator has convinced him to hand over very large sums of money.
"We believe that Cooper is currently in the Christchurch or Bournemouth areas and we would ask that anyone who has seen him or knows of his whereabouts to get in touch as soon as possible."
Anyone who has information on the whereabouts of David Robert Cooper should contact Fareham CID on 0845 045 45 45 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
